Victorinox Lifetime Warranty


Victorinox AG warrants to the end-user purchaser that the Victorinox product will be free from material or manufacturer defects that appear during the course of normal use of the product for the lifetime of the product (except for electronic components such as USB flash drives, LED lights, and accessories, including but not limited to paracords, lanyards, chains, pouches, gloves, clips, straps, knife blocks and booklets, as well as small leather goods, which are covered by the Victorinox Two-Year Warranty). 



What is the scope of the Victorinox Lifetime Warranty?


The Victorinox Lifetime Warranty applies to knives, cutlery and tableware, personal care products, sharpening tools and kitchen utensils, e.g. cutting boards, except for brand collection and third-party branded products, which are covered by the Victorinox Two-Year Warranty.


What does the Victorinox Lifetime Warranty not cover?


The Victorinox Lifetime Warranty does not cover any defects due to normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, damage caused by improper handling, damage resulting from abuse, misuse, negligence or accidents, alteration or modifications to the product, nor does it cover damage caused by an unauthorised service centre.


Remedy


If a product is found to be defective, Victorinox or one of its authorised service centres will repair or replace the product at its discretion. If the product cannot be repaired, Victorinox reserves the right to replace it with an identical or equivalent model. Upon such replacement, the original remaining warranty period will continue to be in effect for the replacement product.


Warranty Claim Process


The Victorinox Lifetime Warranty applies only to products that were purchased from Victorinox or an authorized Victorinox seller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Victorinox reserves the right to reject warranty claims from purchasers for products purchased from unauthorized sellers.


Victorinox may require you to provide proof of purchase to demonstrate a valid warranty claim.


To make a warranty claim, please contact Victorinox, an authorized Victorinox seller or your closest Victorinox service center. To find the closest Victorinox service center for the fastest service possible, please visit our Store Finder.


You must either ship your product to Victorinox or an authorized Victorinox seller for repair, or take it to a Victorinox service center.


Return shipping costs of the product from Victorinox or the Victorinox service center to you will be covered by Victorinox.


Repairs will be carried out to restore the intended functionality of the product. While these repairs will be carried out professionally, Victorinox cannot guarantee the preservation of the product’s original appearance.


Victorinox may charge a handling fee for products under the Victorinox Lifetime Warranty.


If the repair of the product is not covered by the Victorinox Lifetime Warranty, Victorinox or the Victorinox service center will contact you with an estimate of costs for the repair and return shipping.


There are no warranties that extend beyond those stated herein. Any implied warranties that may be applicable to the products, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the duration of this warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Under no circumstances shall Victorinox be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages based upon breach of this warranty, breach of contract or strict liability. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from country to country.



This warranty statement supersedes printed warranty materials that may be included with your product.

What does the warranty cover?


Victorinox guarantees any stainless steel product that it sells to be free from defect in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following the care instructions. This excludes damage caused by misuse or accident. The warranty extends only to the product’s original purchaser. Chips in the knife blades, broken knife tips, discolouration from food and rust spots are not covered. Knife chips and broken knife tips can often be repaired by re-sharpening.


The following are excluded from the warranty:

  • Damage caused from misuse, improper use or accident
  • Misuse cutting hard substances such as frozen foods, bones, hard nuts, hard cheese etc
  • Improper use using item as a screwdriver, can or bottle opener, etc
  • Accident dropping knife on the floor or hitting against other hard surfaces
  • Rust and discolouration stemming from inadequate after care

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. WATCHES


Victorinox Swiss Army watches purchased from authorised retailers are eligible for the manufacturer’s three-year limited warranty – which has been extended to five years for purchases effective January 1, 2019.


Proof of purchase


Customers are encouraged to store their stamped warranty card or their store receipt as proof of purchase, it will be needed to demonstrate warranty coverage. The warranty only applies to products that were purchased from an authorised Victorinox retailer.


This warranty is granted to the first purchaser or the person receiving the product as a present, starting from the date of the purchase.


Victorinox 5-Year Warranty +


Our 5-Year Warranty + covers manufacturing and material defects that appear in the course of normal use in the five years after the date of purchase. Additionally, it includes a free replacement battery within the first year after the date of purchase in the event that the battery is defective.

In the event of such manufacturing and material defects, Victorinox AG undertakes, as appropriate and at its own discretion, to repair your Victorinox Swiss Army watch or to exchange it for an identical or equivalent model. This will be done at its own expense, as sole and exclusive compensation, subject to the presentation of the stamped warranty card that has been dated and signed by an authorised retailer, or the valid proof of purchase that states the date and model.

Shipping costs from the repair centre will be covered by Victorinox AG. As a limit to the manufacturer’s warranty for repairs and exchanges, the manufacturer hereby limits and excludes the following cases:

  • The battery, after one year from the purchase date; normal wear and tear (discolouration of the strap, scratches on the glass, the bezel, the bracelet or the case)
  • Damage caused by improper handling, as well as damage resulting from abuse, misuse or accidents
  • Damage caused by an unauthorised repair centre

If your watch is no longer under warranty, your service centre will suggest alternative options and provide you with an estimate that includes repair fees and return shipping costs. Repairs under warranty must be carried out solely by an approved Victorinox service centre.


After five years


Victorinox AG offers high-quality service at a reasonable price to customers with a product where the warranty period has expired. If the customer’s product is «beyond repair,» Victorinox AG will suggest alternative options. Customers are requested to contact their local service centre for information on maintenance and the options for shipping their product.

Note: Please save your store receipt as proof of purchase, as you will need it to demonstrate your warranty coverage. Our warranty only applies to products that were purchased from an authorised Victorinox store or retailer.


The warranty period starts from the date of the original purchase. Any repairs carried out will restore the intended functionality. While repairs will be carried out professionally, we cannot guarantee the preservation of the original appearance.


This warranty gives you certain rights and you may also have other rights, which may vary from state to state or between different European countries. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.



Global 2-year Limited Warranty


Products covered by the Global Two-Year Limited Warranty are guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of original purchase. If such a defect appears during the warranty period, we will repair your product or replace it, as appropriate and at our discretion, with the same or an equivalent model, free of charge.

Warranty 1+10 years


Year 1: Victorinox Total Protection Program


During the first twelve (12) months of ownership, your product is covered by the Victorinox Total Protection Program.

  • This includes manufacturing defects, normal wear and tear, airline handling and transit damage.
  • This excludes abuse, cosmetic damage (scratches on leather or on polycarbonate or stained fabrics), incidental/ consequential damage (such as damage to or loss of content of the bag, loss of use, loss of time), abrasion, solvents and accidents.
  • Note that the electronic device/function integrated in your travel product is not covered by this warranty.

The Total Protection Program covers the repair expenses, shipping costs to and from the repair centre or a replacement product (identical or equivalent value) if your product is beyond repair. Warranty repairs must be carried out at an approved Victorinox service centre.


Years 2 to 11: Victorinox Quality Warranty Program


From the beginning of the second until the end of the eleventh year of ownership, your product is covered by the Victorinox Quality Warranty Program.

  • This includes manufacturing defects and normal wear and tear with the exceptions of seams, stitching, fabric and zipper tape.
  • This excludes abuse, cosmetic damage (scratches on leather or on polycarbonate or stained fabrics), incidental/ consequential damage (such as a damage to or loss of content of the bag, loss of use, loss of time), abrasion, solvents, accidents, airline handling and transit damage.
  • Note that the electronic device/function integrated in your travel product is not covered by this warranty.

The Quality Warranty Program covers:

  • the repair expenses or a replacement product (identical or equivalent value) if your product is beyond repair,
  • the shipping cost from the repair centre.

You are required to either ship your product to us for repair, postage paid, or take it to a Victorinox store or a Victorinox authorised retailer. If it turns out that the repair of your bag is not covered by the warranty, your service centre will contact you with an estimate including repair fees and return shipping costs. Warranty repairs must be carried out at an approved Victorinox service centre.


After 11 years


If your product is no longer within the warranty period, we offer a high-quality service at a reasonable price. If your product is “beyond repair”, we will suggest alternative options.
